Ahh……..at last, Eye and Ear Control’s nervously anticipated follow-up to their overrated masterpiece ‘We Have NO System’ is finally here. Radically altering misperceived joy aspects, Eye and Ear Control return with two beautifully constructed studio pieces and a moving, ill-conceived, at times poignant, but mostly distressing live piece that buckles under its own bloated weight. Recorded live at Diskono’s occasional night ‘Verbrechen’ at the 13 Note, Glasgow, this is their live debut! We at CONSUME knew that the duo would struggle to reproduce their patented studio sound live and we were right. What they have produced here is a mish mash of faulty ideas held together by sellotape and driven along by poorly chosen rhythms and love. Why didn’t they just stick to their winning formula !? We’ll never know, but we at CONSUME are thankful they didn’t. A change is a good as a rest after all and they must have been well rested after that gig! We love them and their misinformed, deluded ways!
