EYE AND EAR CONTrOL ___ wE HavE NO SyStem (CoN 001)

This debut release from CONSUME features the fading talents of Neck Doppler and The Render General, brought together under duress then welded together by the white light of misrepresentation.

Lost in a world of acute filter distress and angular tank fledglings they needed a way out, and they found one! Many feel that they perhaps took the wrong door and stumbled blindly into a bin but we at CONSUME fully support their blunt exit and revel in their simple sonic delights/dread.

Armed with NO computer NO sampler NO planning NO direction and NO obvious skill is it any surprise that they made this album!

Rough, unready, compromising and disturbingly honest, this music represents a group at the very trough of their creative disabilities.

Catch them now before they rise into obscurity.

"Playfully disturbed music that plays like a fractured outsider take on pop, idm andtechno-pop.  These tracks are not freeform noise jams - they have moments of quiet delicacy as well as dense confusion, and they are paced quite effectively. The duo also display a sense of humor (without resorting to slapstick) throughout the proceedings -something that is always admirable in this sort of thing. The first track is a gallop fueled by flanged percussive rhythm that travels through an endlessly shifting maze of effected and morphing bleeps and synth tones. The track, though 17 minutes long, rarely gets stuckin a rut, and rarely moves faster than necessary, allowing the listener to enjoy every flanged drumbox hit and echoed bleep just so.The second piece opens with sinister mechanical feel though the mood remains playful as location recordings give way to another relentlessdrum machine loop and carefully controlled feedback squalls. The final piece is another long bleepy workout, full of shifting drum machine rhythms, stolen voices and music, and spacey echoes and effects. The total effect is very retro-80s - perhaps reminiscent of Severed Heads, or The Residents and other Ralph Records-affiliated outfits. There is also a feel similar to that heard on Felix Kubin and Schlammpeitziger's 80s referencing projects - so fans of all of the above and weirdo music in general might want to investigate further." - Carlos M. Pozo (Angbase)

“Good punk rock electronics” - Klaus Oldanburg (Diskono)

"Perverse and demented in its instability, but actually well controlled to give a feeling of continuity and maintain an interest." - Ampersand Etc

“Obnoxiously unlistenable. For instance, throughout the second halves of "wE HaVe NO SyStem" and FraCtuRe CliNic", a high-pitched, dog-whistle-like note makes the experience almost unbearable.” - Josh Kazman (Splendid)
